The Toy Industry Association’s (TIA) Alan Kaufman, senior vice president of technical affairs, attended the meetings as part of a U.S. delegation that included representatives from toy manufacturers, importers and testing labs.
“TIA participates in this annual meeting to provide input on proposed ISO standard revisions and to advocate for greater alignment between ISO 8124 and ASTM F963 – the federally-mandated toy safety standard in the United States,” said Kaufman. “With many countries around the world using ISO 8124 as a model, it’s important that changes to the standard remain solely focused on children’s safety and are compatible with national and regional requirements, both in the U.S. and in other jurisdictions.”
TIA will keep members apprised if updates to the ISO toy safety standard are approved. |
