More than 60 individuals, including mass and specialty retail buyers, youth experts, academics, and journalists, will sit on 12 nomination committees (one for each category) to review the submissions and determine which products will appear on the official TOTY ballots.
The 84 unique finalists, seven in each of the twelve categories, will be announced at a national press event in New York City on Monday, November 24th. On that day, voting will open for consumers (on ToyAwards.org), retailers (mass and specialty), media, and TIA members. Each ballot will be weighted and used to determine the category winners as well as the overall Toy of the Year and the People’s Choice Award.
Winners will be announced at the TOTY gala on Friday, February 13th, 2015 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. The annual celebration will also salute the industry icons being inducted into the Toy Industry Hall of Fameand support the philanthropic work of the Toy Industry Foundation. |
