Conducted by international research firm Kidz Global, these reports examine children’s weekly routines and preferences, drawing from consumer surveys conducted in January of 2014. Included is detailed data on where, when, how and with whom children play, as well as their computer and mobile usage, TV consumption, music and reading preferences, and more, all segmented by age and gender.
The Brazil and China research also encompasses holiday shopping patterns and purchase influencers during Christmas 2013, looking at the number and type of presents received, the primary gift givers, and when and where they make their purchases.
These reports are the final addendum to the body of research on Brazil and China that TIA unveiled earlier this year. In addition to market demographics and the results of consumer surveys conducted from January through October 2013, the previous reports provided business intelligence to aid in effective market entry strategies, including economic indicators; industry influencers; ideal target regions, audiences and retail channels; promotional opportunities, and more.
“With these final reports in place, we are pleased to provide our members with comprehensive market and consumer data that will help companies understand the opportunities and potential obstacles to doing business in the Brazilian and Chinese markets,” said Anne McConnell, TIA’s director of market research and data strategy.
As previously announced, in its ongoing effort to offer international research on the foreign toy markets of most interest to its members, TIA has again commissioned Kidz Global and Altios International to develop a similar body of research for the Australian and Mexican toy markets. Members will be alerted when the reports on Australia and Mexico become available. Questions regarding this research can be directed to Anne McConnell (646.520.4870). Providing Association members with commissioned research on foreign markets is a direct response to one of the goals outlined in TIA’s 2013-2015 Strategic Plan, which highlights the need to proactively address globalization by collecting, analyzing and sharing relevant trade and economic data for overseas markets. |
